Drivers have different levels of experience when it comes to electric cars. By giving them the information they need, you can help them enjoy their rental and take good care of your car.
Including the range of the car the car description can help the drivers plan their trip.
Please try to be as realistic as possible and keep in mind that some drivers are not that familiar with how an electric car works. You could mention that driving uphill or fast on a motorway will use more battery than driving around a city. And that outside temperature will make a difference.
A tip from us is to include a link to our Guide to Electric Cars for drivers in your description, to make it easier for them to find more information if they need.
Explain how to plug and unplug your car.
Describe how to know if your car is charging or not.
Indicate where available charging stations are in your area.
Note: If applicable, please specify in your instructions that you have set a “maximum charging limit” for your car preventing it from being charged to full capacity.
If you receive invoices for charging that took place during a drivers rental period, you can submit the relevant documents in order to be reimbursed, for more information you can check this article
If your car should be picked up and returned to a reserved parking space with a charger, you can explain this in Your cars > Access & return instructions.
How your charger works might not be obvious to drivers. Give them step-by-step instructions to help them charge your car. You should add these to your car’s return instructions.
We will inform drivers that they need to start charging the car when they return it. If the driver has any difficulties charging the car, they’ll be able to report the issue. You will receive an alert with the details they’ve given about the problem.
If the car isn’t charging and the driver hasn’t reported any issues, you can request compensation. You can do this up to 2 business days after a finished rental. You’ll receive €20/200kr if we can determine that the car wasn’t charging and the driver didn’t report any problems. When the rental has ended, go to “Car wasn’t charging at the end of the rental” on the rental page to make your request.
You can set a charging time for your car in Your cars > Your conditions. Setting a charging time will create a period between each rental to allow your car to charge.
